Research results for medical publication: Presentation of microbiological processes in ischemia

Universitätsklinikum Tübingen (University Hospital and Faculty of Medicine Tübingen)

These illustrations were produced for a medical-scientific paper by a team of scientists and doctors from the University Hospital in Tübingen. It was about microbiological processes in so-called ischemia, i.e. reduced or absent tissue perfusion, e.g. as a result of a heart attack. As a reaction to this, biological processes take place in the body that sometimes make healing more difficult or lead to consequential damage. These facts should be clearly illustrated. The focus here was on the role of Sema7a in these processes.

Part of the work consisted of designing suitable representations for the elements involved in the form of icons or characteristic visual symbols.
